Throughout the year, the MT tech community promoted several events covering topics such as quality assurance, sound engineering, the lifecycle of digital products, and the future of the gaming industry.
These encounters, held in iconic venues such as Casa da Música, the Teatro de Matosinhos, and the Mosteiro de Leça do Balio, culminated in main hall of Câmara de Matosinhos for MT Connect. This initiative not only celebrated the progress achieved but also served as a space for reflection and knowledge exchange, where the expertise of seasoned professionals met the boldness of fresh perspectives.
The event featured dynamic interviews with representatives of some of the most passionate, innovative, and fast-growing networks of the Portuguese tech ecosystem, including Vânia Gonçalves from Geek Girls Portugal, Ricardo Castro from DevOps Porto, Anna Pankin from Ladies that UX Porto, and Luís Miguel Silva from Porto Tech Hub. Moderating the discussions was Matilde Barroso, a skilled brand strategist with experience in creative digital agencies and hospitality curation. The engaging format allowed the attendees to interact directly with the speakers, exploring their views on the challenges and opportunities of this ever-evolving sector.
With its characteristic commitment and boldness, MT thus concluded a year-long sequence highlighting its growing ambition to elevate the quality and efficiency of the national and global tech landscape – a vision also evident at the most recent edition of Web Summit in Lisbon.
Highlights from WebSummit
Among the startups that stood out this week at the Parque das Nações, the Portuguese companies Framedrop.ai – whose no-code AI-powered tool can sift through extensive footage and highlight key moments, making content creation more efficient and reachable – and Intuitivo – whose digital platform is designed to optimize the evaluation process in schools by simplifying the creation, distribution, and grading of tests – deserve special recognition.
Both startups, winners of the Road 2 Web Summit and the Pitch competition, respectively, exemplify the early-stage potential of Portuguese businesses (participation has grown by 10%, with many of the 125 projects already operating internationally and collectively raising €37 million in investment).
Their success reinforces Portugal's role as one of the most dynamic and promising tech hubs in Europe.
